Counseling

I believe Scripture is authoritative, sufficient, and relevant for practical help and hope in all problems we face. In it, God has provided all we need for life and godliness. Similarly, I believe the local church is the community in which we find the support, accountability, and encouragement we need to glorify God by pursuiing our joy in Christ (Romans 15:42 Timothy 3:162 Peter 1:3Hebrews 10:24-25).

What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is built on a simple, enduring principle: the triune God has spoken to us through the Scripture. Furthermore, through biblical history, doc- trine, law codes, poetry, and songs, God has revealed to us everything we NEED to know about Him, about our- selves, and about the world around us (2 Peter 1:3).

Some Essentials of Good Counseling

God-centered, Christ-exalting, cross-cherishing, Spirit-dependent, Bible-saturated, emotionally-in-touch, culturally-informed use of language to help people become God-centered, Christ-exalting, joyfully self-forgetting lovers of people who spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples.
